Description
The BSA Officer is responsible for day-to-day implementation of
Bank?s BSA review, investigation, account identification, analyzing
and reporting any activity believed to be associated with unusual
and suspicious account activity such as potential structuring,
money laundering or terrorist financing to ensure the Bank is in
compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act. This
includes identification of unusual transactions and timely and
accurate filing of the Bank?s suspicious Activity reports and
currency transaction reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other
duties may be assigned.
1. Pursuant to the Bank?s established BSA Monitoring
Program/Desktop Procedures, conduct and review and analyze all the
appropriate SAR monitoring reports to identify unusual/suspicious
account activity for Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)
Conduct additional research and investigation or assist BSA
Operations Manager to supervise the performance of research and
investigation conducted by BSA Analysts on specific unusual /
suspicious account activity to determine whether a SAR is
warranted.
2. Using the SAR Manager program, prepare and complete SARs or
assist BSA Operations manager to oversee the preparation and filing
of SARs, as determined.
3. Review or prepare, as necessary, the CTRs prepared by BSA
Analyst I (CTR Specialist) for accuracy and completeness prior to
the e-filing and ensure CTRs are e-filed in timely manner including
error corrections.
4. Assist BSA Operations Manager and / or BSA Officer to train BSA
Analysts on customer due diligence procedures for account
monitoring and on the research, investigation and drafting of SARs
and CTRs and on enhanced due diligences on high risk accounts by
the bank?s program
5. Review and conduct periodic OFAC scan to determine whether there
is true match of the list
6. Analyze and prepare the Suspect Check-Kiting Report. Investigate
any issues and communicate the findings to the BSA Operations
Manager and / or BSA Officer. Assist in the explanation to branch
personnel and Operations Administration of the potential risks
identified
7. Review the high risk due diligence procedures for designated
high risk accounts determined by BSA Monitoring Program and / or by
BSA Officer and / or BSA Operations Manager
8. Prepare and review the designated high risk accounts determined
by BSA Monitoring Program and / or by BSA Officer and / or BSA
Operations Manager
Requirements
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor?s Degree in related fields of business or financing or
equivalent experience is required.
2. 2+ years of bank?s operations experience is preferred.
3. 6+ years of BSA related experience is required.
